Taxi services

There are a few well-known taxi companies in Sofia with modern cars and offering the same rates: “Yes and Yellow 333”, “OK Supertrans", “S-Express”.

Standard rates are as follows: Daytime - 0.30 €/km (0.59 BGN/km)                                         Nighttime - 0.35 €/km (0.70 BGN/km) 

Sample rates

From Metropolitan Hotel to Sofia Airport - around 2.55€ (5 BGN) in low traffic and around 3.60€ (7 BGN) in rush hour. From the hotel to the city centre - maximum of 6€ (12 BGN).

Useful information

The taxi driver must have an ID and a vehicle lisence which must be on the dashboard. Do not hesitate to file a complaint if you are not satisfied with the service. In order to call a taxi, you need to dial a phone number or hail a taxi with a green light if you are on the street.

Always check the rates in order to avoid a deceit.

Public transport

• Buses - № 1, 3, 5, 76, 84, 88, 114, 204, 213, 214, 305, 306, 313, 604 – bus stop 'HMS' or 'National printing establishment'.
• Fixed route taxis - № 3, 9, 14, 16, 30, 36, 37, 42.
• Trolleybus: 5, 8.
• Subway: station Mladost 1, distance from the hotel - 1km. The metroline will reach Sofia Airport in 2012.
